Class 1 papers stay inside numbers to 100: counting forwards and backwards, comparing quantities, simple addition and subtraction, basic shapes, and patterns. Science covers living and non-living things, parts of the body, plants, food and weather. Nothing here is beyond what school has already taught.
What is new is the format. Most six-year-olds have never met a multiple-choice question, and the marks lost at this level are almost entirely about not finishing, or circling the first option that looks familiar. Practising the shape of the paper matters far more than drilling the content.
