Science & Nature Worksheets

Young children are natural scientists in one specific way: they notice things and ask why. These worksheets are built to use that rather than to deliver facts — labelling the parts of a plant, sorting animals by where they live, tracking the weather across a week, following a life cycle round from egg to adult. The topics deliberately overlap with what a child can see outdoors. A worksheet on arctic animals is interesting; a worksheet on the minibeasts in your own garden, done immediately after going to look for them, is the one that sticks. Suitable roughly for ages four to ten, with the simpler sorting and labelling sheets at the younger end and the life-cycle and habitat work at the older.
