What this worksheet covers

This is a fifteen-question practice worksheet on numbers up to 100 for Class 1, written to the pattern of the SOF International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO). It carries 18 marks and is designed to be attempted in 30 minutes, split across three sections — Counting and Number Names, Using Numbers and Achievers Section. Every question is multiple choice with exactly one correct option, and every one comes with a fully worked solution rather than just an answer key — so a child who gets one wrong can see where the reasoning went astray instead of only learning that it did.

Skills your child practises

  • Applied problem-solving on numbers up to 100 at Class 1 level
  • Working accurately against a time limit, as the real paper demands
  • Counting and Number Names questions in the olympiad format
  • Using Numbers questions in the olympiad format
  • Achievers Section questions in the olympiad format
  • Reading worked solutions to find the step that went wrong

Sample questions from this worksheet

A preview of what's inside Numbers up to 100 (Class 1) — the PDF has the full set, and every question comes with a worked solution like these.

  1. 1. Which number comes just after 47?

    • A46
    • B48correct
    • C57
    • D37
Solution: 'Just after' means the next number when we count forward. After 47 we say 48.
  2. 2. Arrange 34, 43, 14 and 41 from the smallest to the biggest.

    • A34, 43, 14, 41
    • B43, 41, 34, 14
    • C14, 41, 34, 43
    • D14, 34, 41, 43correct
Solution: Compare the tens digits: 1, 3, 4, 4. So 14 is smallest and 34 comes next. For 41 and 43 the tens are the same, so compare the ones: 1 is less than 3. The order is 14, 34, 41, 43.
  3. 3. Look at the pattern: 2, 4, 6, ____, 10. Which number is missing?

    • A7
    • B8correct
    • C9
    • D12
    Solution: The numbers go up by 2 each time: 2, 4, 6, … Adding 2 to 6 gives 8, and 8 + 2 = 10, which matches the last number. ✓
