What this worksheet covers
This is a fifteen-question practice worksheet on geometry, patterns and data handling for Class 3, written to the pattern of the SOF International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO). It carries 21 marks and is designed to be attempted in 40 minutes, split across three sections β Mathematical Reasoning, Everyday Mathematics and Reasoning and Achievers Section. Every question is multiple choice with exactly one correct option, and every one comes with a fully worked solution rather than just an answer key β so a child who gets one wrong can see where the reasoning went astray instead of only learning that it did.
Skills your child practises
- Applied problem-solving on geometry, patterns and data handling at Class 3 level
- Working accurately against a time limit, as the real paper demands
- Mathematical Reasoning questions in the olympiad format
- Everyday Mathematics and Reasoning questions in the olympiad format
- Achievers Section questions in the olympiad format
- Reading worked solutions to find the step that went wrong
How to use it
- 1There are 15 questions in this worksheet. All questions are compulsory.
- 2Each question has four options (A), (B), (C) and (D). Exactly one option is correct.

1. How many edges does a cube have?
- A6
- B8
- C12correct
- D16
Solution: A cube has 6 faces, 8 corners and 12 edges.2. A rectangular garden is 12 m long and 8 m wide. What is its perimeter?
- A20 m
- B40 mcorrect
- C48 m
- D96 m
Solution: Perimeter of a rectangle = 2 × (length + breadth)
= 2 × (12 + 8) = 2 × 20 = 40 m.3. The perimeter of a square is 36 cm. What is the length of each side?
- A9 cmcorrect
- B6 cm
- C12 cm
- D18 cm
Solution: A square has 4 equal sides, so we divide the perimeter by 4.
36 ÷ 4 = 9 cm.
Check: 4 × 9 = 36 cm. ✓
