What this worksheet covers
This is an eighteen-question practice worksheet on comparing quantities for Class 7, written to the pattern of the SOF International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO). It carries 24 marks and is designed to be attempted in 45 minutes, split across three sections — Mathematical Reasoning, Everyday Mathematics and Reasoning and Achievers Section. Every question is multiple choice with exactly one correct option, and every one comes with a fully worked solution rather than just an answer key — so a child who gets one wrong can see where the reasoning went astray instead of only learning that it did.

1. {3/8} written as a percentage is _______.
- A30%
- B83%
- C38%
- D37.5%correct
Solution: Multiply by 100.
{3/8} × 100 = {300/8} = 37.5%.2. A bill for ₹2,500 attracts GST at 12%. What is the total amount payable?
- A₹2,800correct
- B₹2,700
- C₹2,512
- D₹3,000
Solution: GST = 12% of 2,500 = ({12/100}) × 2,500 = ₹300.
Total = 2,500 + 300 = ₹2,800.3. Consider the following statements.(i) Profit and loss per cent are calculated on the cost price.(ii) A discount is calculated on the marked price.(iii) If the selling price equals the cost price, the profit per cent is 100%.Which of the statements is/are correct?
- A(i) and (ii) onlycorrect
- B(ii) and (iii) only
- C(i) and (iii) only
- DAll three
Solution: Statements (i) and (ii) are both true. Statement (iii) is false — if SP = CP there is neither profit nor loss, so the profit per cent is 0%, not 100%. Hence (i) and (ii).
